I am a recent college graduate from Brigham Young University, Idaho. I have always been the one to help other students understand when they are not able by using different words and descriptions to teach subject matter. I believe in guiding the student to the answer and not just giving it to them, so that they have the opportunity to learn and find confidence that they can figure out the answer on their own. I have always been able to encourage others, so that they are able to achieve more than what they thought they were able to achieve. I love helping all people learn and teaching how one can gain understanding out of all things that surround us.
I have been selected as a community service guru back home in New York and was also selected to help the special needs students and was known as the one that loved to help! I am able to take experiences from my life and share them as a means to help another learn and gain the knowledge that they are seeking. I have a great sense of humor and have found that using it to teach helps students learn and retain the information that they are taking in. I will go the extra mile to help each student achieve and be successful in the subjects that I tutor them in. I find value in each student and try to help them see their own value and what they have to offer to each learning environment that they are placed in.
If having good strong Christian values is vital to you then I offer that too. I am firmly rooted and will be there for you child through all the turmoil that is the learning process. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am a strong reader who is able to comprehend complex passages and help student gain understanding.
Where would we be if our history were not what it was? History is the fiber of each land, and most importantly makes us who we are as a country to be reckoned with.
A lover of the language that holds the keys for higher learning, I have always enjoyed the fineries of this great and difficult language. I am able to quickly comprehend what is written and apply that to the context of what is going on through the whole of any passage or need of a good word to capture what is being conveyed by the writer to their audience.
As a lover of history and the world, I have come to love what is happening in the world as wars and other happenings occur. I especially enjoy world war two and the remarkable recovery that was made by the European nation what it is today. Knowing and understanding this rich history also unlocks the splendor of what we have here in The United States!
I minored in Music for my degree and have sung in many choirs. I love to help others acquire a love for the fineries found in the wonderful world of music.
Great books have the power to broaden our horizons and or thoughts. I love classics that span from sea to sea and allow me to gain a better understanding of places and cultures that no longer truly exist. Gaining knowledge of the language that great writers of yesteryear used is well worth its weight in gold. I have read books by Tolstoy, Shakespear, Dickens, and many others that have heightened my awareness of the great cultures and civilizations that no longer exist and help me to better understand what we have here in America.
As a music minor and avid explorer of the history of music I have a vast knowledge of history and music. I have taken music history classes and studied the elements of the time periods and the music of some of the great such as Beethoven, Mozart, Hyden, and many more. With Theory classes and singing in choirs I have been able to experience many time periods of music and the beauty that each time period has.
As a lover of music and having a minor in music from Brigham Young University-Idaho, I was able to acquire great skills in the realm of music theory. There is great joy when one can understand how a piece of music works to make it special.
An avid reader who has always been in the 95% or higher in reading comprehension, I love reading books that make one think and pose a challenge to understanding. I have been able to help many others gain better comprehension skills and over all enjoyment levels when reading for leisure and for class.
As a graduate from Cicero-North Syracuse High School I have taken and passed the Regents exams required to acquire certification as a high school graduate. I was very successful in my endeavors for history scoring a 93% on the World History Regents which covered two years of course material and an 85% on the Honors Regents for American History. I also achieved passing marks on the Earth Science and Biology Regents and the English composite exam.
Ever wondered why words have so much power in today's society? The more advanced our vocabulary becomes, the more we need our words that we have learned to be used. I love using ambiguous words that require thought and decision to make their symmetry come alive upon the page. Words have power let us unlock their power together!
