Hi there! My name is Shannon. I'm 25 years old, and I have an Associates Degree in Language Arts from Butte College. I graduated with Honors and a 4.56 GPA. I am very passionate about reading, grammar and especially vocabulary. I have passed every English class I have ever taken (from elementary through college) with a solid +A. Some of my favorite people, and best friends have been my English teachers.
I can tutor elementary through high school. I have a flexible schedule. And my areas of expertise include vocabulary, and grammar. I believe that reading is the best way to learn and improve our minds. My approach to teaching is to discover something a student loves, and then make their problem areas relevant to that. Learning should be an enjoyable past time, or else a student will not retain what they have learned.
Books are my passion, and I read more than I eat or sleep. I am also the author of 3 self-published books, with more on the way. It would be my absolute pleasure to help pass on my love of the English language, and knowledge of all its many intricacies to anyone with a need to learn. Hi there! My name is Shannon. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
