Hello! My name is Laynee D., and I am a Junior at the University of San Francisco, studying Performing Arts and Social Justice with a concentration in Music, doubled with Psychology, and am minoring in Neuroscience. I have over 10 years of combined experience teaching a multitude of instruments, working at a Montessori Academy, and instructing Taekwondo as a fourth degree Kukkiwon blackbelt. I enjoy scouting out the easiest ways to understand, apply, and remember new concepts, and am excited for/by the achievement of students.
I have been classically trained in piano since the age of 5 (Certificate of Merit level 10), picked up a guitar at age 8, was president of the Ukulele Club in high school, and enjoy picking up new instruments to see how my existing knowledge applies. I am studying Music at the University of San Francisco, and am currently the Assistant Musical Director of ASUSF Voices (5 choir director). I enjoy working with others, and have no issue adjusting my expectations and teaching methods to the demographics of the individual I am working with :))
I have been training in Taekwondo since the age of 6. Since then, I am lucky to have been given a multitude of opportunities to begin instructing students of all ages (10+ years, 3x US Open Hanmadang Coach, Kukkiwon Certified Master Instructor) and competing ( US Open Hanmadang 10x Gold Medalist, 8x UWTA World Champion, UWTA National Champion, etc. I focus dominantly in Sparring, Poomsae, and Weapons.
I'm excited to work together!
