I am an educator with over 15 years of experience working with students as a Classroom Teacher, Resource Teacher, and Director of Student Development. I have a degree in Child & Adolescent Development with an emphasis in Elementary Education from CSU, Fullerton, as well as a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential and Master of Arts in Teaching form UC, Irvine.

I meet students where they’re at by assessing their current abilities and then working with students to strengthen areas of weakness. I welcome input and suggested resources from both parents and teachers.

Language Arts is my specialty. As Director of Student Development and Elementary Teacher, I implemented the Step Up 2 Writing program as well as reading fluency and writing assessments school wide as well as in my own classroom. As Director and Teacher of a summer writing camp for many years, I used song, dance, stories, and games to teach students how to write their own stories. As a Tutor, I utilize all of these fun tools to make learning an enjoyable experience.

Very patient, knowledgeable and highly skilled tutor

Richelle's first session with our 4 yr old was excellent. Richelle, very patiently, conducted several exercises, gauging our son's skill level and was highly engaging. Our son was very happy with the class. We are looking forward to moving to a regular cadence with Richelle, starting next week.

Knowledgeable, engaging, and a soft motivating style

Language arts, writing, and grammar skills, and self assessment of work completed. She is teaching our twins at the same time and is able to involve the kids in the lesson. She follows a curriculum and is excellent at presenting the material and circling back to confirm student's grasp of the material presented.
