University of California Santa Barabra (Mathematics)
University of California in Irvine (Master's)
I grew up in Orange County and studied mathematics at the University of California, Santa Barbara. During my time in high school and at UCSB I fell in love with the beauty of mathematics. Now I am a candidate for the degree of Masters of Arts in Teaching at the University of California, Irvine – a prestigious teaching program that covers everything about teaching, from complex teaching and learning theories to fundamental teaching methods specifically geared towards mathematics. Additionally, the masters program has a student teaching portion of the curriculum that has placed me as a student teacher at a local High School, the 25th best public high school in the nation.
ACT and SAT mathematics have specific patterns and curriculum standards that I am prepared to reveal and master with my clients. I am student teaching in Algebra 1, Algebra 2, and geometry classrooms at a High School, where students score at a 90% pass rate on state standards tests! Therefore I am highly capable of helping my clients master these subjects. Lastly, I focused my studies at UCSB in geometry and calculus at the undergraduate level, so I am more than familiar with the finer workings of both of these subjects and prepared to help my clients master them as well.
Please, extend a request to me and I will prompt at replying and eager to assist you in your endeavors! In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I took calculus at the university level as well as an analysis class. I scored a B+ in the analysis class, which is a proof-based analysis of calculus.
I specialized in geometry at the university level, taking courses on both Euclidean and non-Euclidean geometry and scored A's in all courses.
I have taken computation linear algebra at the university level, as well as introduction to higher level linear algebra and advanced linear algebra (both proof-based undergraduate courses). I earned a score of A in computational linear algebra and scores of B+ in both of the higher level, proof-based linear algebra courses.
