Helping others empower themselves through education has always been apart of my career goal and ultimate life purpose. As a college freshman at California State University, Long Beach (CSULB), I immediately declared a major in Education and never turned back. Immediately after graduating with a Bachelors degree, I secured my first teaching job (High School English Teacher) and reenrolled at CSULB to earn a Single Subject Teaching Credential in English; there I studied English Language Arts, of course, as well as the theories and methodologies of teaching and learning. While continuing my teaching career, I later enrolled in Pepperdine University where I learned even more about educating others, continued to hone my skill set as an English Teacher and earn a Masters degree.
I have over 15 years experience working with students in one-on-one, small group and whole class settings in middle and high schools, as well as adult schools and at the university level. These experiences have allowed me to work with a diverse population of students ranging from those in the inner city to those attending private institutions and adults seeking help to fulfill deferred educational goals. As a highly qualified secondary English teacher, I have many resources to help ANY student at ANY ability level succeed.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
