Hey kids! I am a third grade teacher and I have been teaching for 20 years. I have also taught 2nd and 4th grade so I know what is expected. I realize sometimes you need a little boost, which is how I got started tutoring. I try to make learning fun, get the work done and give you tools that you can later use. We all have strengths and things we need to work on, so my job is to help find the best way for you to learn. I have experience with the new Common Core Standards and will help you work on a specific goal or a general understanding of a certain topic. I love working with kids both in the classroom or as a tutor. See you soon! :)
I have taught the Common Core standards and given the Smarter Balanced Assessment.
I have 20 years of elementary teaching experience as well as many years of tutoring experience.
I have taught second and third grade so I know what it takes to be a great reader. I have experience with phonics instruction and now how to get kids reading "Just Right" books.

I hold a CLAD multiple subjects credential and have taught the Common Core Standards for almost two years.
I hold a multiple subjects credential for elementary education with a CLAD emphasis. I have taught for twenty years and tutored for about five years. I love teaching and know I make a great tutor because I am patient and have a repertoire of teaching tools.
I have taught second, third and fourth grade so I know firsthand the progression of writing. I am familiar with pencil grip, letter formation, and cursive handwriting. I have used special techniques with my students to help them with penmanship as well as teaching them the craft of writing.
As a primary teacher for many years, I am very knowledgeable about phonics instruction. I have taught kids to read using spelling patterns and basic phonic instruction. I use guided reading in my classroom to focus on phonics as well as programs such as Signs for Sounds, read aloud, word sorts and shared reading.
