Here is a little background information about myself: I am two classes away from satisfying my Bachelors of Arts Degree in Journalism and Mass Communications, with an Associate in University Studies Literature & Writing.
Currently, I am an Instructional Assistant with a year of experience working with Special Education students in the Behavioral Intervention Department (Autism, Asperger's, etc.) on the high school level. Previously, I have worked as a Marketing & Communications Assistant at a community college. In addition to this, I was a youth leader for a non-profit organization, working with children from preschool to high school.
By the way, my name is Latoya R. and I take great pleasure in working with children; my aim is to use innovative ways to engage young minds to learn and develop themselves in becoming educated, productive, successful members of the society.
Thank you for considering me. I look forwarding to meeting with you soon.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
Currently I work as a paraeducator in special education/ behavioral intervention in an elementary school setting. Students range from high to lower functioning autism/asp syndrome. I teach 2nd grade students in all subjects--with small rewards/incentives to encourage compliance. I am very patient, friendly, firm, positive & persistent to educate my students for success regardless of their challenges!
