My teaching philosophy has always to provide my students with the tools to enjoy the learning process.
I have more than 25 years teaching experience in both public and private schools; I have a Teaching Credential in English with the Emphasis in Drama, and have successfully taught Drama, Directing, Creative Writing, English, and Shakespeare. My lessons are adapted for the individual student. Each of us has a unique way of learning and retaining material. I can help you develop that...

My background in theatre and speech, as well as language arts and creative writing, allows me to use a wide range of teaching techniques. I have 25 years of experience teaching, directing, and performing. Theatre lessons can cover a wide range of sub topics. Theatre history: how acting and theatre plants evolved from the Greeks to today; Acting: stage movement, blocking, character development, vocal variety; Directing: learn to select the right play, cast, create blocking; rehearsal schedules, tech assignments; Dramatic Literature: read and study plays, find themes, motifs, learn differences and similarities in playwrites throughout the ages; Audition Prep: learn everything you need to know to go into an audition fully prepared and confident.

Others have developed the confidence needed to audition, or apply for a job. I can teach you speech styles including expository, informative, and extemporaneous. I will help you learn how to organize and develop a coherent speech from a single topic. You will learn vocal variety, projection, and appropriate gesturing. Wonderfully attentive to needs of the student

I am a parent on the opposite coast from my son in college. Eliane is the person I rely on to provide accurate guidance to suit the needs which change weekly with regard to assignments in three courses. I don't go into panic now that she meets with my son twice a week. I get a thorough follow up note from her on what happened in the session and I feel tremendous relief that someone who knows what he needs is assisting him. Awesome.

Very Happy With Eliane

We have been using Eliane's services for a few weeks now and are very happy with what she is doing with our student. She gives a summary of what was done with the student to keep us abreast of developments and also to reinforce at home. She also gives homework that is appropriate - not too much. This helps to reinforce what was done at the tutoring session. She is very solicitous about her student and flexible with scheduling. We are very happy with her services.
