I am a Japanese native from Tokyo and moved to the US in 1994.
Since then I have enjoyed teaching Japanese language and culture to K-12th grade students at public schools and at Japanese Supplementary Schools/Hoshuko for 12 years. I have tutoring experience in Japan and the US as well.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have taught Japanese language and culture at public schools to American and Japanese students for 12 years in TX and FL.
I believe learning a foreign language from a native speaker who understands American language and culture would be the best way.
