Hello!

I am Julie, a MATH or EXCEL tutor:

MATH:: In High school, I maintained a 4.0 gpa, with math being the easiest subject for me. I like to work with all grades. I like to work with those that need a quite a bit of extra help if school isn't easy for them, as well as those students who just need a reboost of confidence as well as those wanting to have a structured schedule right now. I graduated summa cum laude from Cal Poly Pomona with B.S. Mathematics. I have tutored a few individuals over the years - elementary to college. Algebra is one of my favorites. I am new to Wyzant's platform and I am looking to do more online hours in tutoring with the COVID happening. I have passed the CBEST and I currently am a substitute teacher/aide at a private K-8th school.
For those that need extra help. I am encouraging and supportive and we can dig into new ideas that might work.
I can help those in Algebras (pre, 1,2) to understand and work through homework problems, weekly check-ins, new concept review, rebuild foundational skills.
In higher grades, the students need to do most of the work. I can walk thru the problem with them.
The truth is that Math takes time and it takes repetition. If we miss a concept from the past, since Math builds upon itself, we must go back before we can move forward. I can help fill in those gaps of the foundational skills. I can use reciprocal instruction and game-based and I/we/you do.

EXCEL:: I also have worked with Microsoft Excel for 20 years so I am happy to help those needing assistance to learn the functions, pivot tables, IF statements, macros, Microsoft Query, Index/Match, Excel Solver, What if scenarios, data table, goal seeker. I can help streamline worksheets and design templates.
