About Sarah

Sarah graduated with honors from Bryn Mawr College. She double-majored in English and History of Art, and completed completed graduate work at the University of Pennsylvania. Sarah received her teaching credential from Loyola Marymount University, and she is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Education at the University of San Francisco. Sarah is a TeachforAmerica alumna, and currently teaches at a charter high school that prepares traditionally underserved students for success in and beyond college. Her school is ranked in the top 1% of all high schools in the United States, and is consistently ranked a GOLD Medal High School by U.S. News and World Report.

She teaches AP Language and Composition, and college preparatory English for 11th grade, although she has taught middle school and all grades in high school as well, including a self-designed course entitled Global Citizenship, which uses a research-based inquiry model to examine issues of identity, violence and healing, gender and racial equity, and other social justice concerns, so as to empower students to advocate for change.

Sarah received a perfect score on her ACT Reading and Writing sections, as well as recently qualifying to tutor for the Cambridge Center by scoring above the 96th percentile on SAT exams. She also completed 60 hours of training in SAT preparation. She also scored 5s on multiple AP Exams when she was in high school, and now tutors her students to be able to do the same, devoting hours a week to rigorous preparation for critical reading and analyses and college preparatory writing. Sarah has written extensive curriculum in English Language Arts for grades 6th through 12th, and has helped hundreds of students to craft their college acceptance personal statements. Her credential, experience, content-knowledge, and passion for the subject matter set her apart as a scholar and teacher.
