About Christine

I took the New York Bar exam in July 2013 and the California Bar exam in February 2014 and passed both times as a first-time taker. I am here to help you pass this exam so that you can begin to practice in your desired field of the law. I know that everyone has different strengths and weaknesses- whether it be the subjects themselves, or the different parts of the exam (essay, PT, or MBE). We will work together to devise the best study plan for you and review the areas which trouble you the most.

Additionally, if you need any tutoring for your law school classes, I can assist in that area as well. I finished my 1L year in the top 15% of my class.

While I do have a 24 hour cancellation policy, I will offer makeup classes. I look forward to hearing from you!

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Bar Exam

I attended law school at the University of California, Davis School of Law and graduated in May 2013. I took the New York bar exam in July 2013 and passed as a first-time taker. Additionally, I took the California bar exam in February 2014 and passed as a first-time taker. These are two of the hardest bar exams in the United States.

German

I graduated from Colby College in 2004 with a B.A. in Political Science and German. I also received a Fulbright Scholarship to do research in Berlin after graduation, where I lived for four years. I worked for thinktanks and other organizations where the bulk of my correspondence was in German. I also successfully passed the DSH exam which certified that my German was up to university-level standards and took classes at the Humboldt University and the Free University in Berlin. I have also previously tutored students in German, including elementary, intermediate and advanced German.

Law

I graduated from the University of California, Davis school of law in the top 20% of my class in May 2013 and passed both the California bar and the New York bar as a first-time test taker.

Proofreading

I graduated from the University of California, Davis School of Law in May 2013. As a third-year law law student, I served as the Editor-in-Chief of the UC Davis Journal of International Law and Policy where I engaged in the substantive editing and review of 12 articles for Issue 18.2 and all of Volume 19. I also have experience proofreading and editing outside of the legal field.I spent 5 years working in public policy and one of my tasks was to help prepare publications for policy conferences. I have also tutored German students in English at the beginner, intermediate and advanced levels.
