Georgia Perimete College
My name is Molly and I would like to introduce myself.
I am a CELTA certified English as a second language teacher. I have been teaching ESL for more than 13 years now. More than nine of those years were spent living and teaching in Rome, Italy. I moved back to the USA in 2008 and have taught at private ESL language schools in both San Francisco and Berkeley. Throughout my teaching career I have taught all levels, all ages and people of all nationalities. I have had small groups of very young children in Italy, gone daily to multinational companies to teach business professionals and have had groups of 15 or more ESL students in classroom settings. In the summer of 2012 I spent seven weeks teaching at Manhattan College in the Bronx, New York. This was a young learners ESL summer abroad course. I taught teenagers from Russia, Spain and Italy. Teaching in all these various settings has made me a very versatile teacher, which I believe is fundamental in ESL.
I use many different methods to engage my students; the approach I would use with a young child would differ greatly from the method I would use with an adult business person. I often incorporate music, film, games and current affairs in my lessons. I would be happy to explain, in detail, to potential clients what my methods are, but the truth is I tailor my lessons based on the needs of each individual client. I listen and understand students' needs and interests. The feedback I receive from my students is outstanding. "Enthusiasm, patience and a passion for teaching" is a phrase both my students and employers have used to describe me.
I am one of those lucky people who can truly say, " I love my job!" I look forward to the opportunity of having you as my student.
All the best,

If a student travels to my house, I will give a discounted price. I would also adjust my price for small groups.
Molly is an extraordinary tutor, is very patient and explains everything very good, for example I was very confused about when to use some verb tenses and in two lessons with her I understood the difference. Also she gives me a lot of homework to do so I can practice the grammar we see in every lesson and we do a lot of conversation, Molly tells me when I make mistakes, this is great for me. I enjoy a lot every lesson and the time flies!!
With English as my second language, I continue to use English at a barely enough level. Few months ago, I finally made my decision to find an English teacher to help me to cope with my systematical weakness in English. I am lucky to find Ms. B.
Molly started with listening to my need patiently. I explained I often find myself getting confused in the middle of causal conversations, even though I have no problem to engage in a professional discussion. With that, Molly suggested to me to learn phrasal verbs. Americans like to use informal English, she explained. Besides improving my comprehension skills, I find phrasal verbs do make causal conservations more cozy, so I continue to learn more since then. I also explained I am often confused with the usage of many prepositions. Then, Molly gave me a summary of all of them and we practiced for several lectures. She also help me to practice countable and uncountable nouns, many of those I always use with little confidence. Molly always gave me enough homework to practice between lectures, which effectively strengthened my learning experience. After two month's lectures, I have clearly improved my confidence in English.
Overall, Molly is very flexible and patient, that only adds more quality to her already rich experience as an English teacher.
I think that I made the best decision between all tutors of WyzAnt because with Molly I felt confidence from the first lesson. She is so friendly and in our classes, I improved my skills and learnt more about the American Culture.
Thank You Molly for all recommendations about the things to do in San Francisco, I will remember the good conversations about music and art. You love Dave Grohl and know all about this guy and I love The Rolling Stones.
What a pleasure it was having you as a student for the time you were in Oakland. I always looked forward to meeting with you. Your sunny outlook on life made the hours of our lessons just fly by.
Thank you again for choosing me as your tutor. I feel that I have a new friend, not just a client.
I wish you all the best of luck for your future. I know that whatever you set your mind to, you will achieve!!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
