Spanish,

Spanish

I am bilingual (English / Spanish). My first language is English and I reached fluency in Spanish during college. I currently use Spanish professionally. My teaching approach in Spanish is to support learning the language in a number of modalities (speaking, listening, etc) and connect students with resources in Spanish that match personal or professional interests. I am particularly experienced with helping students who struggle with grammar or who are seeking to develop their confidence speaking in Spanish.
Statistics

Statistics

I have completed advanced undergraduate / graduate coursework in statistics. I have also taught psychological statistics at the graduate level. I enjoy helping students understand the, sometimes murky, concepts that can make Statistics challenging.

Homeschool

Algebra 1,

Algebra 1

I completed mathematics coursework through multivariable calculus and excelled in each subject which has provided me with a firm grasp of foundational concepts in algebra, geometry, and calculus. I am particularly effective at working with students who struggle with confidence in math subjects and need support identifying their strengths. Previous students have complimented my compassionate approach and ability to explain complex math concepts with clarity.
Algebra 2,

Algebra 2

Algebra II is my most frequently requested subject and the one where I often see the most improvement with students. It builds on the concepts of Algebra I. Therefore, my approach to tutoring this subject includes bringing students up to speed on necessary Algebra I fundamentals. We then work on building students' confidence in the more advanced problem solving strategies required for second year Algebra.
Calculus,

Calculus

I completed Calculus I / II as well as multivariable calculus. My enjoyment of the material led me to take several applied calculus courses in Economics and Statistics. I am passionate about helping students succeed in this fascinating subject - and have had great success supporting students at the high school / college level in Calculus I and II.
Prealgebra,

Prealgebra

I completed coursework through multivariable calculus and have a strong understanding of foundational concepts in algebra, geometry, and calculus. Many students will take at least two to three years of math beyond pre-algebra. Students learn about abstract concepts (variables, equations, exponents, etc). My approach is to connect these abstract concepts to relatable / real-world experiences. I also support students in finding study plans that work for them and developing organizational skills for problem solving that will serve them well in future coursework.
