UC Berkeley (History)
Hi! I'm a recent Graduate from UC Berkeley, and I have over 3 years' experience in tutoring English, Composition, and History at the High School and College level. In addition to tutoring, I have worked as a Supplemental Instruction Leader, Supplemental Instruction Mentor, and have assisted with Jump Start, a summer program for at-risk high schoolers. I love helping students, because what I help with can change their lives academically and personally. I enjoy giving back to the community, since it has helped me tremendously.
I am very familiar with the expository format and research papers. In addition to structure, I can assist with grammar, mechanics, and vocabulary. I am also well-versed in MLA and Chicago style citation. I received a Level II CALT certification in 2013, and have completed college-level composition courses with an A grade. I have extensive experience working with those with learning differences and ESOL students, and possess a variety of strategies to assist students with different learning styles.
I recently studied History at UC Berkeley, with an emphasis in Early Modern England. In addition to the relevant courses I enrolled in, I have completed courses in Antiquity, The Roman Empire, Early European History, United States History, and Early Asian Civilizations with an A-B grade.
In my free time, I enjoy reading, dancing, drawing, and exploring!
Please don't hesitate to contact me for tutoring, and feel free to send any questions you may have my way. Thank you for taking the time to read my profile! Hi! In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
