Occidental College (Politics)
My name is Tyler and I'm a recent college graduate looking for tutoring opportunities. I have teaching experience, both one-on-one and in a classroom of 20-30 elementary and middle school students. My areas of expertise include politics & government, American history, literature, writing, and technology. I love tutoring because it really allows me to get to know a young person and learn from them as I explore the best ways to provide them with academic support, guidance, and confidence.
I graduated from a well-known liberal arts school where I authored roughly 200 papers and essays in subjects ranging to political science (my major) to literature and film.
I've taught Adobe Flash to classes of 20-30 middle school students at CSUN's Summer Academic Enrichment program. I've been in this teaching position for the past two summers.
I graduated with a degree in politics from Occidental College with a 3.8 GPA in my major. I also received a score of 5 on my AP Government & Politics exam during my senior year of high school. I currently work as an independent contractor for a political research firm.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
