I have coached and taught and found that the most effective method is one of trust and communication. Adapting based on student feedback has been a very successful method and so I ask that you always be honest with me on what is working and what needs you feel you have.
I have worked with all age groups and skill levels. I constantly will look to find ways to help you learn and improve. Having been trained in numerous programs via college board and educational seminars, I will always adapt to what is best for my student. I stay up to date on changes on exams because of the students I deal with daily. I am always sincere and look to create a trusting relationship so that you can improve as much as possible.
I follow the patterns found in successful students on exams. I break down the exams into smaller parts and go over each section to ensure that nothing is ignored. I model my lessons to match what students will encounter on the exams so that there are no surprises.
I value education and see the understanding of how to study as individualistic. Since we each do it differently, I always emphasize an individualized plan to help improve study skills. I also focus on consistency and understanding a student's strengths and needs.
I love to see my students succeed and improve on a constant basis. I'm honest and will always provide feedback on ways to get better and help conquer any fears you may have about tests or development of skills. My passion is helping students improve. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
