UC Berkeley (Molecular Biology)
I am a graduate of UC Berkeley, with a Bachelor's Degree in Molecular Biology. I attended High School in West Hills, CA, and graduated as an AP Scholar with Distinction. I have received a score of 5 on several different AP tests: Calculus BC, Economics, Psychology, Chemistry, Biology and Physics. I have extensive experience in providing patient and thorough tutoring. At Berkeley, I tutored students to take the Medical College Admissions test, in which I myself scored in the 99th percentile.
I can tutor in any physical or life science and all math up to Calculus. I am also qualified to tutor students for Statistics, as I have taken several semesters of advanced undergraduate coursework in Probability and Statistics at Berkeley. I am proficient in the use of statistical software to create graphs, organize data, and perform hypothesis tests.
I currently work in research. I look forward to helping my students gain a deep understanding of the subject material and to bring up their performance in their courses quickly. Ravnit was a truly patient, kind and capable tutor whom I find has helped me tremendously in just a matter of 2 hours. Although statistics is not an easy subject for me, he validated my concern and then encouraged me try. His way of explaining the language of statistics was really applicable to my career path--meaning he gave me real world scenarios and used the math to help me figure out things that I would need to be able to figure out if I am working on sample groups and such in my area of the social sciences. Ravnit is a completely scientific and mathematical guy but he is charismatic and able to relate to others even if they think in a non mathematical way. I recommend Ravnit to everyone and anyone who wants to tackle math. His intelligence does not exceed his humbleness and this is the most admirable part of him as a tutor.
I am so thankful that Ravnit really connects with my son. He is patient, thorough, and knowledgeable. I highly recommend him.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
