Hi, I'm Ginnie! I've earned a BA in Politics and International Relations from Scripps College, an MA in Modern History from University College, London, and an MSc in Social Policy and Planning from the London School of Economics. I have 8 years under my belt of tutoring with prestigious SAT/ACT prep companies, and am trained in a range of their methods. Plus, I've tutored/taught high school and college academic subjects for 3 years, adding my own tutoring style and best practices that I have found over the years. I've led in-person classrooms and private online tutoring, and highly customize lessons to your individual needs, learning style, and goals. I've also worked with students to help finalize their top college choices, draw up application timelines, and craft their college admission essays.
Recently, I returned to the classroom to teach one of my favorite college level-courses--US History--in a college prep high school. I love the story-telling of reading (especially history), the creative rules of math, the logic of grammar, and the persuasive power of writing. I would love to help you hone your knowledge, skills, strategies to help you succeed in high school and college.
*With the current disruption in the regular school structure, I am responding by shifting my tutoring to help:
-maintain a daily academic structure,
-reinforce online school instruction,
-continue curriculum for schools that have not yet shifted to full online instruction,
-provide more frequent personal feedback while students are outside of the classroom, and
-keep students on track with where they would be during a regular school year.

If you are unable to take the ACT/SAT for your college applications, then your colleges will weigh all other pieces of your application more heavily--such as your grades and application essays. We can absolutely use this time to boost your profile as a highly valued applicant to your college choices.

Whether you want a 1 hour cram session, months of prep, or anything in between, we can set up a stud

Excellent SAT tutor

Ginnie appears to have the perfect combination of solid/ideal skills and a calm/easy personality, making her an ideal tutor for our SAT-preparing daughter. She's an excellent communicator which resulted in a productive, fun, and stress-free session. Ginnie can cover all SAT subjects, which will make life a lot easier for all of us. By far, she was the most responsive and easiest tutor to efficiently schedule a session with.

Extremely Knowledgeable and patient tutor.

She is an amazing tutor. I just had my first class today and I felt like I have already learned so much. She is very kind and has a positive attitude. She helped me find my weaknesses and made a study plan for me to improve. I am very pleased 😊
