After many years in school I realize the incredible difference one-on-one teaching can make and I love helping students in this way. I have a bachelor's degree in Fine Arts/Photography and have an additional love for English, reading, writing, and literature. I specialize in tutoring vocabulary, writing, grammar, reading, English, art, and art history. I also specialize in working with elementary school students but love working with students of any age.
Throughout high school I was an assistant teacher at our connecting elementary school, and during college I often volunteered in tutoring peers with essay-writing and proof-reading.
One of my goals while tutoring is to make sure the student grows in the area(s) with which he/she is struggling the most during each session. I will ensure that the student is challenged at her/his own pace so he/she can understand the lesson as fully as possible. This leads to one of my other main goals: that the student returns to school each day more confident in her/his own capabilities and potential!
I am available to tutor full-time and am able to travel to students. My rate is $45-$60/hour based on distance of travel. Free first-time consultations are also an option! Contact me for more information.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
