About Anton

I have a great amount of respect and admiration for the world of academics. My grandmother, mother, and aunt were all 4.0 students. Following in my family’s footsteps, I also graduated high school, undergrad, and graduate schools with a 4.0 GPA. I received a master’s degree in accounting and got my CPA right after graduation. I have taught numerous accounting courses at several universities. I have taught at the University of Iowa, Southern New Hampshire University, Grand Canyon University, and a few others. Though I always excelled academically, I also understand the importance of balance and having a life outside of the classroom. I participated in various extracurricular activities, including playing Division 1 college football in the Big 10. Therefore, I understand the importance of time management and am great at using my study time effectively and efficiently.

I began tutoring my classmates and friends in algebra and geometry when I was in middle school and continued to tutor various math related topics throughout high school and college. I love working with new students and finding a way to connect with people regarding their educational needs. Teaching students is one of the most rewarding things in my life as it constantly forces me to learn and grow as a teacher and person!

Ever since I can remember, math has always come easy to me. I always had the highest grade int he class and moved up quickly, completing Calculus II while still a junior in high school. Senior year of high school, I took Calculus 3 at a local college. In college I completed my undergraduate degree in accounting in just 3 years with a 4.0 GPA. I then went on to get a Master's degree in accounting, also with a 4.0 GPA. I then passed the CPA exam by scoring in the top 1% of all test takers in the nation!
Numbers just always make sense to me : )

I have a significant amount of experience teaching high school and college students in classes ranging from Algebra to Managerial accounting. With my experience in as a college teacher and in the business world, I am able to relate the material to numerous examples to help explain the subject matter. Most importantly, I am not your typical teacher. I am an athlete and was a nationally ranked wrestler and football player. I love to work out, travel, hang out with friends and enjoy life!!
Looking forward to working with you!!!

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Accounting

I am a CPA and have a master's degree in accounting. I have also taught numerous accounting classes at several universities. I taught at the University of Iowa, at Southern New Hampshire University, Grand Canyon University, and several others. I have also been tutoring in accounting for many years.

Algebra 1

I have a very strong understanding of algebraic concepts and applications. I have taught and tutored algebra 1 for over 15 years. Moreover, I regularly tutor students in SAT and ACT, which is very heavy on algebra 1 based questions.

Bodybuilding

I have worked with numerous bodybuilders in maximizing the body's ability to gain size/strength while decreasing body fat. Using hypertrophy training and protein/carbohydrate manipulation, I can help people reach their physique goals, whether they have a shoot/competition in one week or in one year!

Elementary Math

I have been working with elementary and middle school students for over 15 years. I have a great deal of experience in relating mathematical concepts to students who are just starting to comprehend how algebra and fractions work! I understand it can be a bit cumbersome and challenging to look at formulas and numbers, so I constantly create ways of explaining and physically showing how the math can be applied and used in real life.

Fitness

I have been in love with the world of fitness ever since I bought my first weight set in 8th grade. I created programs for myself throughout all of high school and became a nationally ranked wrestler and football player. I then accepted a full athletic scholarship to play division 1 college football in the Big 10 at the University of Iowa. At Iowa, I trained with the best strength coach in the nation for 5 years. Coach Doyle has a track record for sending more guys to successful NFL drafts and combines than any other coach in the nation. I worked out in various forms of training programs, including Olympic lifting, conjugate training, German Volume Training, speed and explosive power training, plyometrics, West Side Barbell training, and many many others. Since college, I have continued to try out various training methodologies and train at the gym on a daily basis. Moreover, I have a significant amount of experience with nutrition and have helped many people with weight loss/gain goals by incorporating macro nutrient counting, ketogenic dieting, and bodybuilding style carb manipulation. In other words, I have a significant amount of fitness experience!

Football

I was a nationally ranked football player. I was all state in the state of Ohio and received many full scholarship offers to play division 1 college football, including school such as Northwestern, Stanford, West Virginia, Illinois, University of Iowa, Maryland, and many others. I accepted a full athletic scholarship to play football in the Big 10 for the University of Iowa Hawkeyes. After my career at Iowa, I worked out with several NFL teams. I have a significant amount of experience with the game of football and have a great understanding of how to help others prepare for high school and college level careers!

Geometry

I have a very strong conceptual understanding of geometric shapes and figures. However, I understand that many students, especially those seeing this for the first time, have difficulty envisioning things like angles, area, volume, and perimeter. In working with students in geometry for many years, I have learned the patience and application of examples that are necessary in order to teach this material.

Prealgebra

I began tutoring students in pre-algebra in the 7th grade and continued to tutor this subject throughout high school and college. I understand that each student has his/her own strengths and weaknesses, whether it is fractions, solving for an unknown variable, word problems, cross multiplication, or setting up basic algebraic functions. Therefore, I know the different ways to approach a problem given the students background and understanding levels.

SAT Math

I have a very strong understanding of the algebra and geometry needed in order to succeed with the SAT exam. Moreover, I have dozens of SAT prep books and tests to help you with the material!

Theatre

I have significant amount of training in theater and film. I have studied the Meisner technique and have performed numerous plays. Moreover, I have starred in many TV shows, films and national commercials.

Patient and knowledgeable

Anton was incredibly helpful in my understanding of Algebra 2. Concepts that seemed daunting were quite simple once he broke them down piece by piece into language that made sense. His optimism made it less stressful for me because I have struggled with Algebra 2. Overall a well versed, punctual, and understanding tutor that I would definitely recommend!
