I hope to help you understand American English better and gain solid grasp of the pronunciation and intonation (the way the voice dances as one speaks). Hopefully, I can help you achieve your language goals on your way to earning a degree or just increasing the breadth (the amount) of knowledge about American English from Southern California. I can also help with writing as I was an Honors Student at California State University, in a Pre-Doctoral (that is a preparoty Phd) program that had a special emphasis on writing. Simply put (or said), I studied writing although my degree is in Psychology. The degree in Psychology will hopefully keep you entertained while learning at the same time!
I do not have any ESL/ESOL qualifications as of yet. However, I was raised in a non-English speaking home where I was one of two native English speakers in a house of five non-native English speakers. So, in our home, teaching English as a second language about pronunciation or vocabulary was always present.
I encourage use of recording devices such as cell phones to record audio or video, which can help a student tremendously to retrain the mouth, tongue and ear to hear and enunciate correctly and smoothly! Hello!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
