I am a French American citizen living in Los Angeles about 32 years now. I am deeply involved in martial arts, fitness, and overall healthy eating/living. I enjoy the outdoors, reading, cooking. Being a zen Buddhist, I belong to a Soto Zen mission here in Los Angeles that provides meditation practice and others activities to promote well being such as Japanese calligraphy, flower arrangements, tea ceremony and meditation retreats.
I have been teaching martial arts to children for two decades and had the pleasure to tutor some of them with their English or Spanish. Working with young children has become a way of life and a path for me. I am patient and above all I understand what it is to learn a new language having been though the struggle myself. I have learned how to apply methods of learning regardless of the age and level of my students. Children are the future and I am proud to unleash their abilities to learn languages.
I have taken ESL classes in a community college, Pierce College in Woodland Hills CA, and succeed with A's in all classes. From ESL 85 to English 101 I carried a 4.0 GPA. I have read many classics taught in U.S high school. Books are my teachers. I teach my students how to read for fun instead of for "homework".
In order for me to learn different languages (I speak four languages) I have to spell them mentally.....therefore, my spelling is the utmost importance in teaching.
Results will be significant. I am a French American citizen living in Los Angeles about 32 years now. I am deeply involved in martial arts, fitness, and overall healthy eating/living. I enjoy
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
