Dear Parent & Student:
I am a mother of 10-year-old triplets. They are each at a different level of higher learning. I have been a room-mom for 4 years at the elementary level and taught children in groups and individually very successfully. Because of the student's success, I was a very celebrated volunteer. I find the strengths of the children and utilize them to structure a successful learning path for the child. I have educational games and explore interesting and different ways for children to learn at their level of comfort.
I also have my Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology, so I know what it takes to be a successful student. I also understand that not every child is the same, and that developing a structured, fun and understandable way of learning equals success.
I am also very flexible in my teaching style. I will continuously re-evaluate your child's progress and grow and expand as they do. I will empower your child with encouragement and fill their head with knowledge; they will succeed with me.
I am creative and enthusiastic, and I have developed a hands on practical approach to ensure that students from all ages and backgrounds learn well and efficiently. My background in Clinical Psychology has afforded me the patience and listening skills needed to offer delegates a high degree of personal attention to ensure that they succeed and enjoy the process.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
As a Business Administrator, I authored and edited many pieces of business correspondence as well as business proposals. Our company was doing business overseas and it was imperative that all correspondence, proposals, etc. were written very clear so that they could be translated if need be. I also am the owner of a business that I started in 1988. This is a re-sale business, and it is necessary for me to read, edit and author all business documents that cross my desk.
To foster my colleagues' professional goals for career development, I designed and edited their resumes for submission to a prospective employer. I also developed and participated in mock interviews with them in advance preparation of their actual interview. For example, I utilized the job description sheet for an assistant professor position for one of my colleagues and modified his resume to fit the exact qualifications. An interview was scheduled and he in fact, landed the job.
I was Room-Mom for grades K-4th at my son's elementary school. In this position, I taught many individual and group sessions, such as "Rainbow Word" processing, and "Accelerated Math and Reading" programs. The "AM" and "AR" programs allowed the children to do math and reading at their own learning level, which was very productive for the individual student's learning success. I headed weekly "centers" in which each center provided small group instruction using props, worksheets, and books to enhance their learning experience as well. I also prepared many learning games, such as making alphabet flash cards with the children which taught them how to utilize proper pronunciation and letter use in words.
I was the Room Mom for K, 1st & 2nd grade for my sons' classrooms. I worked with the children who were having difficulty reading. I used Phonics games, such as Fun with the Alphabet, Match the Word Ending and pictures to help the students become familiar with the different sounds of words. I used word, alphabet and picture flash cards and offered incentives for each level of success for the children. I worked on vowels separately.
I have my Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology and have given over 50 public presentations speaking about how to achieve success in graduate school. My exit interview for Graduate School was an oral report inclusive of diagnosis, psychological findings, implementation of treatment plan and a conclusive summary. This was a panel discussion where I was asked several questions by four different individuals, and was required to respond based upon my knowledge and experience with my client. In my previous position of Leasing Consultant, I gave many presentations selling my product of lease financing. I held many meetings with CFOs, CEOs and other corporate officers and I was very successful with obtaining them as clients through my presentations. I can also assist with resume structure, as it is important to know the content of your resume in order to succeed in an interview.
I am currently a pre-school teacher, and strengthening study skills is on my daily agenda. I plan, organize and implement activities, such as time management preparation, to actively engage my students in study skills practice. I also implement organizational practices with my current tutoring students to assist them with effective course individualization. This includes filing methods, paper clipping and list management. I also have my Master's Degree and had to be very disciplined in order to achieve this higher degree of education.
