Hello and welcome!
My name is Hamid. I've been a tutor for 9 years. For the past 5 years, I've been a full-time professional tutor helping students achieve the much strived for 30-36 scores on their ACTs and 750-800 score on the SAT subject tests. I also help students in chemistry, biology, and academic math. Over 95% of my private ACT students have scored in the 30-36 range. I do take the ACT few times a year to see any changes to the test, that way I can implement them into my sessions and provide the most up-to-date information to my students!
I graduated from high school in 2007 as a valedictorian and went on to study pre-medicine at UC Irvine where I earned my Bachelor of Science in Public Health and Biology, with a minor in mathematics. During my time at UCI, I was offered a tutoring position at Learning and Academic Resource Center (LARC) in calculus, lower division biology, and chemistry.
After graduating from UC Irvine, I enrolled at UCLA to complete graduate coursework in biochemistry. During my free time while at UCLA, I worked for a prominent tutoring company in Santa Monica, Franklin Education, where I specialized in ACT and SAT test prep.
For the past 3 years, I've been a math and science specialist for AR Academics in Newport Beach. During my time at AR, I've tutored hundreds of students in ACT/SAT and math/science academic courses.
I offer more than tutoring to my students. They know they can count on me as their friend, which is why they're always in touch with me about their progress in school and life. I changed my path in life from becoming a physician to helping students do well in school because there's nothing more rewarding than receiving messages from students expressing their happiness after receiving their dream scores on the ACT/SAT. Even a simple text from my students regarding their math or science test score makes my day!
I do what I love, and you'll see that the moment we meet. This is why I work 7 days/week and only take one or two days off each month. Tutoring is my passion and I can't imagine doing anything else! Hello and welcome!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
Proper study skills are what set apart the average student from those in the top 1% of the graduating class. No doubt, there are many intelligent students out there but those who learn how to study efficiently will be able to balance academics with extra-curricular activities and sports without stressing a great deal. I have learned what works when it comes to studying smart and would enjoy giving these tips to other students. The earlier the students learn these crucial study skills, the easier their lives will be. By working for different tutoring companies and going through their training processes in the past, I have learned what it takes to acquire these study skills.
