About Alejandro

I have a Ph.D. in Chemistry from MIT, as well as a B.S. in Chemistry and a B.S. in Biochemistry/Molecular Biology from UC-Irvine. In the past I have run chemistry workshops and tutored many undergraduate students. In addition, as part of my requirement for grad school I was a teaching assistant for two laboratory courses (5.311 and 5.301), which has given me plenty of experience mentoring and teaching students of various needs. During my time at MIT I also earned a teaching certificate to strengthen my teaching skills.

In the near future I will be moving on to do more laboratory research, but before leaving MA I have the desire to help out and perhaps inculcate a passion for Chemistry in young students. If you are interested in getting a Chemistry tutor near Cambridge, MA (within 20 mi) feel free to contact me.

If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Well Qualified and Patient Teacher

It's pretty obvious that Alejandro is brilliant and sometimes brilliant people have a hard time teaching. But Alejandro is different - he is brilliant and communicates really well with my daughter who is taking AP Chem. She learned a lot in just one lesson. We are lucky to have him as our tutor and we are going to be using him a lot this year.
