I am a teacher of English as a Second Language, with several years of experience teaching ESL to students from all over the world. I have an MA degree from California State University, Fullerton, and a TESL certificate from the University of California, Irvine.
I am new to this website, but I have been tutoring and teaching English for the past 20 years. I am extremely passionate about teaching and learning languages. I strive to understand more about the culture and language of my students, so that I can better anticipate the issues that they will deal with when learning English. I currently teach ESL at Adult Education in the Sunnyvale-Cupertino School District. I have taught students of every level from every part of the world, and I hope to continue teaching until I am a little old lady! I can provide excellent references from students who went on to study at colleges and universities around the country.

I don't "stop" the lesson when 60 minutes have passed. I always continue until our session have passed, but I never charge for more than an hour.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
