I love teaching math, English, and Psychology. I enjoy encouraging students to accept and enjoy math and understand its many benefits. I'm very skilled at making difficult information seem very clear and simple. I have completed many mathematics, English, and psychology courses in high school, college and graduate school which have provided me with the strong background necessary to be an effective tutor and teacher of these subjects. I've worked for eleven years with children, adolescents and adults from many backgrounds and in numerous settings, including students with learning disabilities. I want to take the time and applaud the excellent and professional service of tutor Amber C. Specifically; I obtained insightful advice and guidance in the field of clinical psychopathology regarding diverse case studies for dealing with hypothetical clients and different mental issues, such as personality disorders from this outstanding expert.
Amber C. exceeds the duties of the role since she is highly skilled in the content area that I am studying and also a mentor to me. She exhibits critical and creative thinking during our tutorials and also high levels of patience. Amber, eager consults with me every Sunday morning at a local Starbucks, which accommodates my time sensitive needs and scheduling preferences.
Although it is merely my second tutoring session, I have already experience immense growth and a surge in my confident for the subject because of her interventions. This type of tutoring works aligns well with my learning style due to the one on one nature and differentiated tutoring style. I wholeheartedly endorse this kind of tutoring and this particular expert.
In addition to applications and theories, this tutor also meticulously reviews and critiques my homework before my submissions. With her assistance, I have achieved better grades and increased mastery of this content area.
In particular, last Sunday, 08/09/ 2015, the tutor facilitated my comprehension with advanced concepts such as Specifiers and Subtypes/ Principal Diagnosis/ Provisional Diagnosis and different personality disorders relating to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders-5. I was able to ascertain this material in a student-friendly manner due to Amber’s empathetic and knowledgeable demeanor.
Amber is currently helping my grade 9 son with algebra 1. She is reliable, patient and kind. She is working with him in a way that he can understand and already he feels more confident.
Amber has been very helpful in getting my 6th grade daughter to really understand her math and English work. Amber is always on time and is patient with our little one.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
