About Elena

I graduated as a philologist and lecturer of Russian Language and Literature from Moscow Lomonosov University in 1993, I started teaching Art History and Art Appreciation at the Academy of Classical Ballet, Moscow, Russia. In 2007 at the Institute for Art Education Studies, Russian Academy of Education, Moscow, Russia I defended PhD. dissertation on the aesthetic experience as the base for studying Art History. In 2005 I was trained as a Russian as a Second Language instructor at Moscow Lomonosov University and teach the subject since that time.

Currently I live in Bay Area with my family and teach Russian language in person and via Skype. Time after time I deliver Art History lectures at different public libraries. I am a member of different professional organizations, such as PAMLA (Pacific Ancient and Modern Language Association), where I chair several sessions at the conferences. I published many articles in different areas of the Humanities studies throughout the world and work as an editor Cambridge Scholars Publishing. one of the last book was “Current Issues and Strategies in ESL Studies” published by in 2014.

What I love about teaching is seeing the progress students make during every lesson. I value the personal approach in everything I teach, from language patterns to discussing a literature piece. From my perspective, personal development is a key point of any educational process.

Please, contact me to discuss the possibilities of studying with me. I am very flexible in schedule and also like to keep students comfortable in their pace of studying. Lessons via Skype and discounts are available for your convenience.

If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
