I am retired from a County government position and am looking to assist individuals in meeting their educational goals through tutoring. I did well in school and would like to share what I have learned with others. I graduated high school as a salutatorian.
I attended Harvard College and graduated with a major in history. My graduate degree is a Master's in Public Administration from CA State University, Fullerton.
I earned a secondary teaching credential in Social Science from CA State San Bernardino in the late 1980s, but it has lapsed. I also served as a substitute teacher (grades K-12) for parts of three school years during the late 1980s.
I am able to assist students in the areas of American history and social studies, the Bible, elementary math, reading, government and politics, proofreading and spelling, study skills, and writing.
I believe I can help students improve their performance in school. I look forward to hearing from you. I attended Harvard College and graduated with a major in history. My graduate
Gary, helped me with phonics and reading today. He is patient and tried to share some strategies to help with my writing for work. He gave me two worksheets to help with improving spelling and structuring paragraphs and using different words in place of often used words repeatedly.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I served as a men's discussion group leader for a year in which the men of my former church went through a series of lessons from the Bible. I led a discussion group of interested individuals centered around DVD series by Ligonier Ministries. I just completed my second three year term as an elder in my church, the First United Reformed Church of Chino, CA.
I have always done especially well in school. I was one of two salutatorians in my high school class. I graduated with a bachelor's in history from an Ivy college. I have a Master's in Public Administration. I also received my secondary teaching credential in the late 80s, though it has since lapsed. I can encourage individuals to improve their study skills by sharing how I went about my work when I was in school.
