My name is Kristin and I am excited to help you become a confident mathematician. I understand how math can be confusing and frustrating for many people. I struggled a bit with math myself until I was in tenth grade . Based on my experience, I believe anyone can excel in math if they are willing to believe in themselves and do the work.
I have a degree in mathematics and I'm credentialed by the state of California to teach math in grades k-12. I have years of experience tutoring students as young as 8 through college aged . I worked for a year as an instructional assistant in a special education class and taught middle school math for 5 years. Through my experience I have seen what areas students generally struggle and have worked with colleagues to develop strategies to help students overcome their difficulties.
I have had plenty of experience working with struggling students and can even relate to them. Tutoring offers me the chance to work with students on a one on one basis so I will be able to develop learning strategies specific to each student.
I would love to help you find your inner mathematician by showing you how math is in everything and using examples that relate to your interests.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
