I am a recent graduate of the University of California, Davis, and have Bachelor's of Arts degrees in Music and Psychology, and Minors in Statistics and Religious Studies. I am a recent graduate of the University of California, Davis, and have Bachelor's of Arts degrees in Music and Psychology, and Minors in Statistics and Religious Studies. I have taught students how to play stringed instruments, and I have also tutored in mathematics, especially in elementary statistics. I love tutoring because it helps me to refine what I already know, and helps me to review and sharpen what I may have forgotten, thus helping me to know and to communicate the "whys" of a problem or a concept, and not merely the "hows." I also find it rewarding when students are able to gradually or quickly learn a new skill in a setting that is tailored and comfortable to them, unlike in a classroom setting where a whole class has to be regarded at once. Focus on the individual is important in education, and it is no different in a tutoring setting.
I have a Statistics minor, and this would not have been possible without skills from algebra or calculus. I used to compete in high school mathematics competitions on the levels of Geometry, Algebra 2, Pre-Calculus, and Calculus. My most recent tutoring in mathematics is actually in statistics, as I have tutored several students in elementary statistics.
Spanish is my strongest foreign language, and the language of my parents. I studied the equivalent of three years of high school Spanish in two years, and can read and write in Spanish. I can speak conversational Spanish, and know Spanish to the extent that I can take care of a child in an outdoor camp speaking in almost exclusively Spanish.
I have studied music in public and private class settings for thirteen years, culminating in a BA in Music, with a Composition emphasis. I have also played in symphony orchestras, county honor orchestras, and in musical theater pit orchestras. I have played violin for thirteen years, and I have played viola and piano for six years. For five years, I have sung with collegiate choirs, and have sung in church choirs, including chanting in the Extraordinary Form of the Roman Catholic Mass. In high school, I tutored fellow students in viola technique. In college, I tutored in music history, including music recognition quizzes. I can also analyze scores and extract meaningful information from them, as well as conduct.
I can tutor in a wide variety of subjects, and can present myself as a well-rounded tutor with a student's needs and interests close to heart. I understand that certain concepts are abstract, or need practice, and I am here to facilitate that. I want to make learning a challenge worth solving, and also for learning to be accessible and enjoyable. I currently have open availability; please contact me so we can start this journey in study together.

Found easy approaches and went through each problem with me. Also had taken time to prepare prior to the session and made sure he knew what he was tutoring. Overall, great!!Suma, 1 lesson with Cristian
