J.D./M.B.A '22 Candidate
I have been tutoring for the better part of three years, mainly close friends and students I mentored back at ASU, in a wide array of subjects, from English to Economics. I love helping others grasp concepts they are having trouble with and help them to achieve to their fullest potential. While at W.P. Carey, I graduated in four semesters by taking 86 credits and maintaining a 3.95 GPA, graduating Summa Cum Laude, at one of the nation's top-ranked schools. I know what it takes to not only...
I know what it takes to not only just master subjects in a short amount of time, but can also help in planning, time management, and the cross-application of subjects, to help become more successful in school. My business education was very well rounded and I have only further honed my skills in a practical sense and can help even more by showing how subjects apply in the real world.
Currently, I am awaiting decisions from law schools and will be pursuing my J.D. and M.B.A. this coming fall. I plan on specializing my J.D. to be focused on Corporate Law, Constitutional, Trial Advocacy, and Litigation. I plan on double majoring my M.B.A. with one in Finance and one in Economics.
While in college, our education was very well rounded and though I majored in Business Law, I still took four different types of accounting classes and received A's in all of them. Accounting comes very naturally to me as I have a business type mind and process information in the same way. Also, since graduating college, I have worked in an accounting role for about two years and at one point, was managing $26 million for a doctor. I have both successful practical and successful academic experience in accounting.
The LSAT is a rough test. I ended up having to take it multiple times, but I have scored as high as 174 and I spent 22 months studying for the test and taking three different company's classes. My average was 169 and so I perform well on the test. After studying it for 22 months and taking many different courses, I have a wide array of styles and approaches to the test and can help students find what works best for them, because we are all different and different minds use different strategies. I have all the LSAT books and all the LSAT tests, plus other materials, that I can use to help students while teaching them the fundamentals of the test and also going through problems with them. I can also help them create study schedules and everything else along with the test and the law school application process.
Business is my life, I have a very business-oriented mind. I have worked in many different markets and have even helped launch a successful start-up nutrition company. I also have a proven track record of academic success in many different business subjects: Supply Chain Management, Accounting, Finance, Marketing, Economics, Law. My major was Business Law, and I graduated with an overall 3.95 GPA, and a 4.05 GPA for my major. At Carey, we had majors, but we were required to take twice as many business courses outside of our major to achieve a more well-rounded business education. For instance, my senior thesis was on eradicating poverty, in a class that combined law, economics, and political science. Other than that, I never let my education get in the way of my learning, and I am an avid reader of books.
I'm 23 and a very outgoing person that loves helping others to achieve higher. Together, we will find a way for you to succeed in whatever subjects you need help in. There is a way to master the subjects you're seeking to improve upon, we just need to find the errors and create personalized solutions that will help build the confidence. Sometimes, all one needs is a little push to gain some traction and from there, it's game over.
