About Taylor

I am a graduate of Amherst College and the Pepperdine School of Law. I received my Bachelor of Arts in English and studied abroad in the Dominican Republic for Spanish. I am also admitted to practice law in the state of California. Currently, I have a full time job with a legal education company that I thoroughly enjoy!

I love helping students one on one, which is why I am here!

During law school, I traveled extensively, clerking for the Rwanda Supreme Court, researching human rights issues in Ecuador, and participating in a service trip to Thailand. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about English, Literature, and Writing. In my experience helping students prepare for Standardized Tests, we always seem to have the most fun and see the most improvements when we work on the Writing portions of exams. I am a firm advocate of education and developing the ability to write. In my spare time, I love yoga, training for the LA marathon, cooking, and making jewelry.

Below is a record of my standardized test scores to give you background as to my tutoring abilities.

SAT Composite 2310
SAT Math 800
SAT Verbal 710
SAT Writing 800
LSAT 163

While I am able to tutor in a diverse range of subjects, my training in law school makes me particularly well suited for helping others to develop their writing skills. I also have extensive experience editing professional articles, and am able to help edit academic papers as well.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Career Development

During college and law school, I formed a strong bond with my career development offices, and made it a point to make myself an expert in all resources related to elevating my career. In my current position as BARBRI Director of Legal Education, I review hundreds of resumes each year, submitted by students applying to work for BARBRI. I also write recommendation letters for many of my reps who need an endorsement to enhance their applications. With my experience, I am well suited to help individuals in their career development, from networking tips, to editing resumes.
