I worked for over 30 years as a congressional auditor. As an assistant director in charge of audits in the national security space arena, I conducted audits and wrote investigative reports to the Congress. I have briefed congressional staffers on the results of my work and have given presentations in front of large audiences. I retired in December 2015 from our Denver office. The Denver office adopted a nearby elementary school wherein auditors would travel to the school and offer reading, math, and language assistance. This is how I knew that I loved teaching!

In late 2016, my wife and I moved to California and specifically Madera. I'm doing my best to get used to the summer heat and lack of snow. Now that we have updated our home, I'm ready for a new challenge in life and that involves tutoring or teaching at the university level. Look. I've taught brand new hires how to write, speak, audit, analyze date, and collaborate as a team. I'm confident that I'll be successful in teaching you whatever you need to learn. Trust me, I remember new congressional staffers who knew nothing about space matters and I've successfully educated them into being near experts!

Working as a congressional auditor requires a significant amount of data analysis, both quantitative and qualitative. I have a passion for data analysis, and this passion will make learning fun. When learning is fun, knowledge is transferred. Plus, I have examples from my many years of work that will help students better understand concepts and the reasons for solving math problems. I have reviewed billion dollar cost estimates, critical paths, confidence levels in estimates, and other matters.

I have written many investigative reports to the Congress. I have prepared many briefings to the Congress. I regularly review various reports from teams who worked for me. I have a complete understanding of grammar, as well as the common traps....subject verb agreement issues, possessive plural issues, pronouns issues, etc.

I have 30 plus years working in the public sector. Aside from profit motive, much of the same work is done to make a business case for decision makers. For example, I reviewed billion dollar programs within the federal government, but the supporting analyses is pretty much the same in the private sector. My undergraduate degree is Business Administration and I have a Master of Business Administration degree.

Mr. Art is well experienced and knowledgeable teacher.

I Chose Mr. Art to teach me of the four GED subject fields: Math, Social Studies, Science, and English. I have seen some teachers who are good in teaching these subjects but Mr. Art is the best teacher for me. Thats why I Chose him to teach me all the necessary subjects.

Kind, patient, and knowledgeable

Arthur is a great tutor, he is very patient, kind, and knowledgeable. i’m working on the ged writing now, and the session was very organized and helpful. Also, i did a math review a day before with Arthur, and i passed. He lives in CA, and i live in the east coast, i prefer morning time and he wakes up early to teach me, which i do appreciate it so much. He is very caring and provides exactly, what i need to work on.

Understanding, helpful

I really like that he gauges our lessons based on what I already know. He doesn’t start at the very beginning unless I need it. He also provides me with “homework” and I Submit the problems back to him before our next lesson to go over my mistakes. He also helped me understand topics really easily in comparison to others I guess we speak the same language in a sense. Great guy, very helpful, always willing to help me out on short notice, very appreciate of him.

Awesome work

Arthur does a fantastic job of working through the problems with you. He has a good set of tutoring tools that are easy to understand. When working with Arthur you can tell he truly cares. It is clear he puts a lot of time in outside of the tutoring sessions to assure he has the proper lessons planned. Arthur allowed me to reach my goal in passing a reading comprehension test. With his skills and tools he can get everyone to pass their specific subject.

Excellent Tutor!

I can't speak highly enough about my experience with Arthur. He is a very knowledgeable tutor who only wants the best for you. I came to him frustrated to seek help for my Diversity/Leadership class, but he turned the work out to be exciting and interesting. He always listens patiently to the points I'd like to cover and provides extremely helpful suggestions. I highly recommend Arthur!

Excellent and talented Professional

My recent session with Art exceeded my expectations! I am working on a article for a business journal and he helped me clarify ideas, identify and track my common errors and even inspired me to rethink a few passages of the document. He’s kind yet assertive and a great listener. I strongly recommend him and look forward to my next session!
