Hi there! My name is Sohini and I recently graduated from UCLA with a 4.00 GPA and highest departmental honors in Human Biology and Society. I'm heading off to medical school in the fall and I want to help students succeed in school like I did! My favorite subjects are MCAT prep, Chemistry, and Biology, but I can also help out with medical school application advice as well! I have prior experience in tutoring other premed students and high school students, and leadership experience to guide our sessions in a productive manner.

I would describe my teaching style as uplifting, friendly, patient, and driven. I want to see you succeed - and I will work until we reach your success together. All I ask is that you send over the specific topic you want to work on in advance, as well as any problem sets or questions you want to solve with me. I look forward to working with you!

UCLA Chemistry class scores:
General Chemistry: A/A
Organic Chemistry: A/A+
Chemistry Labs: A/A
Biochemistry: A

MCAT score: 519 / 97th percentile
C/P: 131 CARS: 130 B/B: 129 P/S: 129
I provide MCAT tips on my YouTube channel, and my viewers have found great success using my advice. I can also offer scheduling templates I have created as well as refer you to a goldmine of underrated free MCAT resources that most premed students don't know about. Feel free to ask me for medical school application advice as well!

I'm a foodie and I love learning how to make my favorite meals. I especially favor Chinese, Korean, and Mexican cuisines, as well as health whole-food meals filled with fresh produce and superfoods. I have past experience teaching younger children how to cook, and I can break down the steps for beginners. I also know a ton of random food facts, so it will be an educational experience too!

I am here to help you!

As a UCLA graduate with a degree in Human Biology and Society, a genetics-heavy major, I feel confident I can explain genetic concepts to almost anyone! I scored straight A's in UCLA's biology series, which is notoriously difficult, and an A in my advanced genetics class. I also helped out in the learning assistance sections and guided my peers through difficult genetics problems.

Knowledgeable and Patient

Will 10/10 book her again. She definitely knows what she’s talking about when it comes to chemistry. I’m taking chemistry 2 right now and after only an hour I feel 10x more confident about the subjects I’m currently covering in the class.

great tutor!

Sohini was really sweet, knowledgeable & patient. She breaks down things really well which is something that I needed for chemistry. One aspect that I loved about our tutoring session is that she took the time to make sure I understood and If I didn’t understand something she would try to show me a different perspective. I would recommend her to anyone!!

Excellent

Sohini is tutoring my 9 year old son! She has her hands full. She is very patient with him and definitely knows what she is doing. I highly recommend her. I didn’t know about this website at first, but I am sure glad I tried it out. It has been a life saver. If we ever have to go back to remote learning I will be using her for every subject!
