Hello! I'm Lauren and I graduated cum laude from Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service. During my time there, I served as a teaching assistant and was a member of the Phi Alpha Theta history honors society, as well as the Pi Sigma Alpha political science honors society.
I loved being a teaching assistant because I got to help students achieve that "ah-ha!" moment who were struggling with a subject. Everyone has had difficulty with a subject in school at one time or another, and I believe anyone can learn anything, as long as they have the right teacher. As a tutor, I use empathy to understand where and why a student is struggling, then work to find how to best to reconfigure the delivery of that information in order for it to make sense.
I served as a teaching assistant for two years in college, and worked directly with students who needed additional help. I served groups as large as 10 at one time to as small as one person, and worked to schedule times at their convenience. I not only worked with students to understand the concepts they were struggling with, but also to point them in the direction of additional resources that they could use throughout their course and overall studies.
I aim to help out students as much as possible, and welcome any additional resources or information from students or parents prior to a session. I will respond quickly to any inquiries. Please feel free to reach out with any questions!
