Writing, Editing, Grammar, all made easier!

Hi! My name is Sophie and I am a recent magna cum laude graduate of the University of Southern California's Film school, with a degree in Writing for Screen & Television. I also minored in International Relations. Because of my wide interests, I have experience writing and editing in a range of topics, from creative essays to academic papers. In college, I was often sought out by my friends to edit and proofread their papers. I found that i enjoyed helping them, and would often help them make their own papers better though careful critique. It is important to me that we work together to help shape your papers and essays, by walking through the stages of planning and outlining, down to the creation of a calendar to help set goals and achievements, as well as the finished product of course!

In film school, we learned how to critique. I believe that this is an important part of learning - and one that I implement in my teaching. It is easy to find the mistakes, but hard to fix them! That's why I help through those tough spots with careful and meaningful suggestions.

I am also well versed in the International Baccalaureate - I received a 39/42 on my IB diploma. I received 7s in High Level English Literature, History (Europe), and a bilingual diploma with a 6 in Standard Level French Language and Literature. If you need help with the IB - I know it's ins and outs and can help you find your way through, from papers to CAS essays!

I also received a 790 and 800 in the reading and writing sections of the SAT.

I also have a range of teaching experience, from helping elementary school kids learning how to write creatively, and put on their own plays, to art classes and summer camps.
