Hello learners! I have been tutoring for ten years and in that time I have worked with many students in all walks of life and at all skill levels. I started tutoring my fellow classmates in high school and never stopped helping others to learn. As an undergrad, I led a peer learning group in biology and was eventually promoted to session supervisor where I critiques other peer biology teachers on their teaching style. I graduate Suma Cum Laude. In grad school I was a TA for several science courses and was responsible for developing lectures and holding office hours. I used these experiences to hone my tutoring style. I have worked for several elite tutoring agencies and I know the test prep industry extremely well. I worked at two elite Los Angeles Test Prep companies. While at these companies I specialized in SAT and ACT. I worked one on one, in homes and online.

Whatever your goals I can help you meet them. I got into test preparation ACT and SAT three years ago and I know the SAT and ACT inside and out, including all of the various question types, tricks commonly used in distractor answers, and how students can improve their pacing.

My tutoring approach revolves round patience. I have a knack for taking complex concepts and making them accessible at any level. There is a lot of stress and confusion surrounding standardized testing, my goal is to give students the tools and the confidence that they need to be successful. I have worked with who whole range of students.

On overage my students improve their composite ACT scores by three points and their SAT scores by 90 points if we work together for 20 hours.

Subject mastery takes practice and repetition. You can’t master a subject if you’re practicing and repeating the wrong things in the wrong way. This is where I come in. A guiding hand can show the student the right way, without doing it for them. I think of myself as in a supportive tole. My job is to build skills and confidence. I want to let a student know that they can achieve their goals.

The SAT and ACT math section is where many students struggle. THE SAT and ACT seek to test deeper understanding so they pose questions in a way that they hope the student has never encountered. Luckily, these question types often repeat; I know what types of problems show up regularly and the common topics that students struggle with. The ACT science section is challenging in its own way. It can be disheartening. especially students who are usually good at science. This is because the exam itself tests very little science. Let me show you how to approach this section and improve your scores. The ACT and SAT reading and english sections are formulaic, various repeating question types that are used on the SAT or ACT. Pacing can be an issue, but I know how to help you move faster and more confidently.
