I was a credentialed high school English teacher for over 15 years, am a licensed attorney, a published writer of short stories and poetry, a mediator, and am now the managing director of a real estate development company. While in law school at the University of Southern California (USC) I worked as an English tutor in the Athletic Department assisting student athletes. During my 15+ year career as a high school teacher, I taught 9-12 grade English to students in regular level, honors, and college preparatory classes, Speech and Debate, and designed, developed, and taught a Conflict Resolution class where I trained students to be mediators on campus and to resolve conflicts as they arose. I spent untold hours volunteering to help my students craft their college application essays, and helped countless former students prepare their admissions essays for graduate school. My philosophy of teaching is one that is supportive of the student's needs above all else in helping her or him to develop an understanding of who they are and how they relate to the work they are attempting to master.

I consider my students to be an extension of my family and want them to succeed, knowing that each student has a unique way of understanding the material, themselves, and the world, and therefore deserves an approach that best suits their specific needs and strengths.

If you or your child are looking to achieve in literature, essay writing, creative writing, public speaking and sense of self, would like to gain a better understanding of the nuances of critical analysis, argument, persuasion, narration, description and expression, or would like assistance in writing an application essay or learning to better communicate with the people in our shared world from a caring and experienced teacher, a father of three, and mentor to many, then I invite you to contact me at your convenience and I look forward to the journey.
