I also train and educate business executives in the field of finance through the firm, Moderation Investments, LLC.

Other skills-oriented, career-advancing topics include: Free Cash Flow Method for Firm Valuation, Business & Management, Academic and Business Writing, and Critical Thinking & Problem-Solving.

I approach tutoring on a case by case basis. Every student comes to me with different needs and expectations. Therefore, I select students that I believe I can help, and I expect to adapt my teaching techniques to provide the best results for them. I use examples, analogies, images, and creativity since every student understands and retains concepts differently.

I earned a master's degree in business administration (MBA) from Duke University, a Bachelor's degree in Finance Honors and Marketing (double-major) from Texas Christian University, and I also completed the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) program. The Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charter is a globally respected, graduate-level investment credential established in 1962 and awarded by CFA Institute; the largest global association of investment professionals.

I believe education is the act of going up to the mountain, bringing wood, and building a house. God blesses the person that exerts effort while believing in success.

Thank you for reviewing my profile. I seek to bring a personal approach to teaching that is dynamic and flexible, and I assume my students' success as my own. I believe that we all have unique talents and one of my talents is educating. I am a natural teacher - no one really taught me how to teach, and my students have truly appreciated the results that we have accomplished! I look forward to meeting you.

I worked as an equity research analyst covering under-followed small-capitalization companies misunderstood by Wall Street with unbiased and often contrarian recommendations at a Los Angeles-headquartered investment bank. Prior to the bank, I executed independent contractor projects by researching the competitive landscape for distinct industries and defining new venture opportunities. Additionally, I secured funding for a startup in the food services industry through two small business incubators, and I compiled and presented business plans and financial projections for a technology startup. My professional career began in 2000 working for three Texas-based hedge fund investment firms as an equity research analyst, trader, and assistant to the Chief Investment Officers at two of the firms.

Great teacher

Juan helped me to understand the concept of Employee Motivation and when I have difficulties he will explain it and make it easier. And he is organized and productive we did a lot through our session.

Strong command of finance!

Juan was very helpful with structuring the financing of my cash flow. It was apparent that he has a strong command of finance to the extent it seems intuitive for him. Best was that he is very relaxed, helpful, and patient and didn’t get frustrated with my lack of knowledge and inexperience.

Good tutor

Good tutor. Very knowledge able of subjects and very patient. When both knowledgeable and patients combine makes a great tutor. He is very good at explaining the material and never made me felt antiminated to ask questions. When the aspects of very knowledgeable and patients are combined that's what makes a good tutor.
