Montclair State University (Political Science)
It's a beautiful thing when someone finds a job that they absolutely love. I am blessed, not only do I get to teach and help others on their educational journey, but in the process I myself learn and improve. Learning and helping others to learn has always been my passion. As an individual who has tutored as well as been tutored, I understand the different learning methods every individual has. Every person learns and receives information uniquely. That is why my mix of patience, personality, caring and flexible teaching methods make me beneficial for my students.
I specialize in History, Political Science, U.S. Law, Religion and Philosophy.
My goal for each of my students is to challenge them, but not discourage them. I do not assign homework, instead the student and I will participate in in-depth discussions before and after a lesson. The key to teaching these topics is to make them fun for the student. However, if a student is having trouble I will provide extra material such as homework and quizzes to help them and their confidence.
A little bit about myself, I am a 23 year old from Wayne, New Jersey. I graduated from Montclair State University where I majored in Political Science and Jurisprudence. I am in California looking for my next opportunity whether that is with furthering my education or getting involved in the professional sphere. I love anything that has to do with water. For the past couple of years I have worked at a sleep away summer camp in Maine, where I have been a water sports instructor. As I've said, I love teaching and always try to have fun doing it!
My college career centered around Political Science and Law where I excelled scholastically. While learning these topics, I have written numerous inter-disciplinary research papers regarding Political Science and Law which have been recognized and published. While focusing on my courses I heavily participated in extra-curricular activates regarding my fields of study. I was an active member of Pi Sigma Alpha National Political Science Honor Society, and a member of Sigma Alpha Lambda National Leadership Honor Society. To be a member I had to show excellence in both my studies and leadership skills.
I am generally available for tutoring every day from 9am to 9pm and I can travel to students.
I look forward to hearing from you and helping you prosper as a student! It's a beautiful thing when someone finds a job that they absolutely love. I am blessed, not only do I get to teach and help others on their educational journey, but in the process I myself learn and improve. Learning and helping others to learn has always been my passion. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
