In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Back in high school, I received the following scores on the ACT exam: ACT Math: 36 (perfect score) and ACT Science: 33. I have had experience working at a tutoring school and teaching advanced math and science subjects, including Algebra, Geometry, and Calculus, to students from the Kindergarten level to the 12th grade.

I mastered introduction to methods and concepts of statistical analysis and sampling situations (with special attention to those occurring in biological sciences). Topics include distributions, tests of hypotheses, estimation, types of error, significance and confidence levels, sample size.

As a Peer Learning Facilitator for the Academic Advancement Program, I also have experience tutoring undergraduates in a mathematics course offered at UCLA. This includes helping students with improve their study skills.
