Bio

After enough time in education, you realize the one simple truth: there aren't any particularly hard tests, just lots of poor instruction.

I've seen countless classmates and students struggle with tests -- SAT, ACT, AP, IB -- for no good reason except that they weren't equipped with the proper teacher or resources. I've been there. I've been in those circumstances and I've made it work. In High School, I took 16 AP classes (and received all 5's), 7 IB classes, and a number of college...

I've seen countless classmates and students struggle with tests -- SAT, ACT, AP, IB -- for no good reason except that they weren't equipped with the proper teacher or resources. I've been there. I've been in those circumstances and I've made it work. In High School, I took 16 AP classes (and received all 5's), 7 IB classes, and a number of college dual-enrollment classes. I still had plenty of time left over to live a normal life. You can too.

At the same time, I've helped classmates and friends through the same subject matter and exams and we were all able to succeed. I continued to do the same thing at Stanford University during my time there.

My approach to tutoring is simple -- it's all in the instruction. If you're taught wrong in the first place, you can't help but be frustrated, feel inadequate, and have trouble succeeding. I start with giving you some of the best instruction you've ever had -- in any subject -- in the most easily digestible, straightforward way you've ever seen. Pair it with some diligent practice, and there isn't a subject you can't ace.

Photography

Initially, I started engaging in photography during a high school film photography class. From this, I have experience taking film photography and development into prints through a black room process. More recently, I have been a self-taught freelance photographer for various events and photoshoots. In my spare time, photography is a large hobby of mine -- specifically landscapes, architecture, and nature. I own my person photography equipment, such as a Canon DSLR with a large assortment of lenses and recording equipment, and have been photographing for the past 5 years.

Public Speaking

Public Speaking

My qualifications come primarily from my time on speech & debate in High School. I attended two dozen speech & debate tournaments, competing in the events of Student Congress, Public Forum, and Lincoln Douglass. In these events, I received a total of 16 placements, of which 8 were 1st place awards. In addition to merely debating myself, I was the Student Congress officer for two years, and Public Forum officer for one year within the club -- under these roles, I taught and prepared over 80 students to compete in these events -- of these 80 students, over 60 received a placement.

Computer Science,

Computer Science

I began learning programming in 7th grade; out of sheer interest, I studied for and passed the Sun Microsystems Java 6 SE Certification at age 13 (the youngest for this cert). In High School, I started a programming club, where I taught over 40 students in Java & C++, as well as tutoring and hosting workshops for preparation for the AP Computer Science exam. Since then, I have Java plugin for a popular game, freelance designed a few websites, and was nominated for the Computer Science excellence award within my county. I currently attend Stanford for Electrical Engineering, specifically hardware & software integration, which has considerable CS coursework.

Electrical Engineering

I am studying Electrical Engineering at Stanford University, with coursework in signal processing, analog circuits, power circuits, digital circuits, and more. Also, I am a technical lead within the Stanford Student Space Initiative, where I am in charge of the Electrical Engineering subsystems team. Under this role, I have developed avionics & flight control platforms for high altitude weather balloons, including satellite communications, thermal regulation, processing, filtering, sensor fusion, data acquisition, and autonomous control algorithms.

College Counseling

I spent considerable time learning the many ins & outs of college admissions -- between essays, common application, CSS Profile, FAFSA, etc. As proof of competency in the college admissions profile process, I was accepted to all schools to which I applied -- including Harvard, Princeton, Columbia, Duke, and Stanford (to name a few). Since then, I have advised and helped several high schoolers applying to college, specifically in regards to guidance about essays.
