About Adam

I'm a graduate student working towards my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and a specialist in tutoring the GRE, SAT, and ACT. I'm also a published writer, excellent editor, and am committed to the success of those I work with.

My students are guaranteed relaxed and enjoyable sessions filled with patience, motivation, and a commitment to their goals. With 10+ years of tutoring experience, I consider myself an expert and have had the pleasure of helping my students realize their potential and see drastic increases in their test scores and overall confidence.

My goal is to teach you how to approach every question type, recognize exactly what is being asked, and know how to break down each problem into manageable steps. Regardless of where you are in the process, (whether you've just decided to apply for graduate school or college and know nothing about standardized testing, have already taken the exam but not yet reached your target score, or somewhere in between) I guarantee that by test day, you'll feel confident and prepared to answer every question that you're presented.

My personal journey has included dedication, many hours of study, and a realization that enjoying the process to reach one’s goals and understanding the importance of work-life balance play a critical role in our overall success. Although I'm very friendly, my style of tutoring is focused on effectiveness, efficiency, and taking your test prep to the next level. I take my position as a tutor very seriously and enjoy working with motivated students. I look forward to working together to help you achieve success!

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

ACT English

I tutor students for the SAT literature subject test, ACT English section and GRE Analytical Writing Section every year. I can also help high school and college students with literature assignments and other English related papers. Additionally, I am a published writer, have experience writing for research journals, and scored in the 93 percentile on the GRE writing section.

Basketball

I have played organized basketball since I was 5 years old, and have coached more than 5 teams. The players I have coached have ranged in age anywhere from 4 to 18 years old and have been across the "skills spectrum." I have also been a referee for various age levels for recreation leagues and have a firm grasp of the rules, regulations, of strategies of the game.

For the aforementioned reasons, I believe I am highly qualified to be listed as a special needs tutor.
