About Bryan

While attending UCLA, I tutored students in literacy with a volunteer student organization. After I graduated, I worked as an instructional aide in LAUSD schools with a non-profit, tutoring students in math and reading comprehension. I worked 1:1 or in a small group with students to increase their grade level proficiency. Currently, I am student teaching in a sixth grade Humanitites, English Language Arts and Social Studies.

In my instructional aide role, I tutored students in sixth grade standard math and eighth grade prealgebra. While tutoring in college, I also worked with students on Alegebra.

I have extensive experience working with students in reading comprehension. While at UCLA, I tutored students in literacy for four years for a student organization. I developed curriculum to use with our student servIce recipients, which focused heavily on comprehension and writing. While working as an instructional aide, I developed unique lessons for varying reading levels and interests. I am currently am student teaching as a sixth grade English teacher, and regularly develop lessons in reading comprehension.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
