Pianist Ge is active as both a soloist and as a collaborative artist. Recently, Ms. Ge performed Vasks Piano Quartet at UCLA Camarades Recital and she is part of Gluck music foundation which is go outside school perform recitals. Pianist Ge is active as both a soloist and as a collaborative artist. Recently, Ms. Ge performed Vasks Piano Quartet at UCLA Camarades Recital and she is part of Gluck music foundation which is go outside school perform recitals. Last summer, Ms. Ge presented a recital of works focusing on the fantastic at the Central Conservatory of Music Concert Hall, Beijing. The program included the Scriabin Fantasia Sonata, Beethoven Tempest Sonata, and the Liszt Sonata. Ms. Gao’s playing has been described as “passionate, honest–with terrific sound” by Hui Liu, director, Shenyang Conservatory of Music and “full of imagination” by Thomas Schumacher, professor Emeritus, Eastman School of Music. Ms. Ge gave her first recital at age 12 and made her orchestra debut three years later, performing Mozart piano concerto K.271 with Shenyang Philharmonic Orchestra. Her repertoire ranges from the Bach Goldberg Variations, sonatas by Beethoven and Ivanovna Ustvolska, as well as works by 2nd Piano Concerto by Rachmaninoff, 8 concert etudes by Kapustin, and sonatas by Prokofiev.

Among the awards Ms. Ge has received are the Russian International Piano Competition, the America-China International Music Foundation, a Manhattan School of Music Scholarship, and she was selected as a soloist at the Shenyang Steinway Younth Piano Concert.

As a collaborative pianist, Ms. Ge accompanies vocalists, instrumentalists at the Manhattan School of Music’s college and precollege divisions and also at the Harlem School of the Arts. Born in Beijing, Ms. Ge moved to New York to study at Manhattan School of Music, earning her bachelor of music under the guidance of Nina Svetlanova and John Forconi; she has coached with Yoheved Kaplinsky, Jerome Lowenthal, and Julian Martin.
