About Francisco

Hello and thank you so much for considering me for your Acting Teacher. I’m interested in working with students who are passionate about acting, eager to make their voices stronger, clearer and more resonant, and not afraid to put in the time to properly train; there is no substitute for technique and dedication. My credentials include a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre and Dance from the University of Texas and a Master of Fine Arts in Acting from the FSU/Asolo Conservatory for Actor Training. There I studied acting under Andre Malaev Babel one of the leading experts on Russian theater and acting techniques, a member of the board of the Michael Chekhov Association in NYC, and on the advisory board of Stanislavski Centre (UK). I am also trained in Fitzmaurice tremoring technique, Diction, IPA, and Paul Meier's dialect work. Alongside my collegiate credentials is my real world experience of acting and directing locally and across regional theaters. Most recently I’ve acted with Los Angeles’ Sacred Fools Theatre Company, San Diego’s Cygnet Theatre, and Sarasota’s Asolo Repertory Theatre.

I’ve taught acting for young adults with three different organizations: Creative Action, Texas Modeling & Acting Academy and The Camille Lightner Playhouse. At Creative Action, I taught theatre at Del Valle Middle School and Perez Elementary’s after school programs. With the Texas Modeling & Acting Academy I taught a course twice a week on the subject of auditioning for commercials for young adults. The Camille Lightner Playhouse employed me to lead acting workshops during their summer camps, working with students as young as 10 to as old as 18. During class we would cover basics such as Stanislavski's acting method, vocal projection, breathe support, movement, improvisation and memorization techniques. Again, thank you for your consideration and if you have any questions please feel free to reach out.

I invite you to contact me and learn more about my lesson plan and to discuss how exactly we can make build on your acting skills. Thank you!

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
