About Ren

I graduated from UC San Diego with a B.A. in Visual Arts Media. I have extensive experience with video production and editing, with proficiency in an array of editing programs including Final Cut and the Adobe Creative Cloud. In 2014 I worked as a video tutor with high school students at San Diego's High Tech High for a documentary film class.

I think each person has a unique perspective, and I find it thrilling to help others develop and refine their voice. I am a calm, fun and incredibly patient tutor. My passion is for education and creativity. Let's make something together.

At UC San Diego, I served as the managing editor for the campus newspaper, the UCSD Guardian, leading writing workshops and working one-on-one with incoming staff writers to strengthen their literary voice in a variety of subjects and styles. I also served as a tutor for a college undergraduate level class called Creative Nonfiction Writing.

Contact me to set up a session! I'd be happy to answer any of your questions.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
